I thought I might as well list some of my favourite books/series/films/musicals so my readers would have an idea of what sort of works I'll be reviewing, so here you go!
The Sound of Music (might as well start with it, since it provides the title of this page 😃)
The Slipper and the Rose
Singin' in the Rain (apparently I'm listing all my favourite movie musicals first... oh well 🤷)
Les Misérables (film, book, musical, musical film -- doesn't matter what version, I love it all! Well, almost)
The Phantom of the Opera (just don't mention the film)
Elisabeth das Musical (if you've never seen this, you really should)
Almost every Disney film ever (though I'm not too impressed with their remakes. What happened to "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"?) (You've no idea how much I wanted to make a Beauty and the Beast reference there)
Anything and everything Takarazuka
Bleak House
Little Dorrit
Our Mutual Friend
A Tale of Two Cities (sensing a theme here?)
Nicholas Nickleby
Pride and Prejudice (but not the 2005 one)
Sense and Sensibility
Emma
Mansfield Park
The Chronicles of Narnia (except The Last Battle)
Howl's Moving Castle
Charlotte's Web
Alice in Wonderland
Watership Down
The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit/The Silmarillion
Cranford (finally got around to listing it! It should actually go at or near the top, because it gives the blog its title, but never mind)
North and South
Wives and Daughters (might as well keep all the Gaskell novels together)
Anne of Green Gables
The Prisoner of Zenda
I used to love The Avengers and the MCU as a whole, but over the years I've lost interest in those films. I still like them, but they're no longer near the top of my favourites list. The X-Men films are much the same: used to love them, not that interested in them now.
Goblin/Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (first K-drama I watched all of)
The Untamed (I love historical and fantasy C-dramas in general, and this one in particular)
Tian Guan Ci Fu/Heaven Official's Blessing
Well, I think that's about it! I know I've forgotten something somewhere, but this list is long enough as it is 😊
